but this little corner of my garden is looking pretty
Here's a bit of a catch up from the last week...
Finished one lap blanket for Wheelchairs for Kids...
and started a second
One more square to go, and a bit of rearranging, then to sew it up...
Browsed my bookshelves for something to read and decided on this one...
Cooking stir fries...
And turkey and vegetable soup...
I've also made a carrot cake and date scones...and eaten them :)
Still getting out for my morning walks when heat and headaches permit. Some recent photos...
Denver had his school leaver's dinner last night. We went for a few photos before they headed off on the bus to their mystery location...
Marnie, Denver, me
And this morning...the large garden bed of red roses at the river is in full bloom...
Will leave you with this quote I read recently by George Eliot...
"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the Earth seeking the successive autumns"
My sentiments exactly!!!
xx
My goodness how grown up Denver is now, a handsome young man.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair cut, it is very flattering.
You are all looking very well.
Are you getting the extreme heat Australia is experiencing?
Merry Christmas,
Bean
Hi Bean! Yes, he is a good kid. Won the 'Good Character' award at the school presentation night :)
DeleteMy hair... Well, it is what it is :)) But thanks :)
No, we are not getting the extreme heat and horrendous bushfires that they are experiencing on the mainland. Mid 20sC here, which is more than hot enough for me. Tassie is a good place to live!!
Christmas Blessings to you and your family. xx
I wanted to comment here the other day, but - I had a migraine! I wasn't prostrate, but it seemed like I was working all day to keep it from getting out of hand. I hope you're entirely over it by now. There are times when the after-effects last a day or two, like my nervous system is wiped out from the episode and has to regain its strength.
ReplyDeleteI understand completely Lisa. Usually my tablets will hold it at bay, but I have had 2 full blown attacks recently were the tablets have not worked and I am down with sever pain and vomiting for at least 24 hours, and then, like you, it takes me a day or 2 to get back to full strength and speed. I am looking more closely at my diet, although foods do not seen to be the cause, but mostly staying out of the hot sunny weather and just slowing down when I need to.
DeleteI hope you are feeling better now. I can certainly sympathise. xx
Lynda, thank you but you have it far worse than I do. I've only thrown up once from a migraine - you poor girl! Perhaps you really do need to slow down, as you say, since it doesn't seem to be food-related. I hope you don't get any more for a long time!
