But will it...
 early morning anticipation

It did...
but hardly enough to be worth mentioning

Foggy Friday

Lovely fog down by the river this morning...
 the fog masking the sun

the walk bridge at the weir

looking at rail bridge from walk bridge

on the east side, looking back to road  and rail bridge

from the walk bridge at the caravan park (on left)

I know, I's an obsession!!

But just so you know my day is not all grey...
enjoying the latest Aust. Country Style mag with my morning coffee

Hope you have some 'colour' in your day too :))

One bowl Wednesday

Made another one bowl wonder for lunch....
(lettuce, baby rocket leaves, capsicum, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, hardboiled egg, cashews, pumpkin seeds)

Picked up this book from the Post Office today (ex Book Depository)...
it will have to go in the ever growing 'to read' pile

And just finished reading The Disaster Artist.  As mentioned in a previous post, I saw the movie The Disaster Artist recently.  And moving backwards, I've now finished the book.  I really enjoyed both the movie and the book.  I still have to see The Room (which started it all).

So I'm sort of doing it 'in hindsight', and it seems to be working, in that I have insight into what is happening as I watch it unfold...backwards.  I bet all that really makes sense !?!? :)

What ever works for you!

Tuesday tête-à-tête

Another hot day here, so enjoying my coffee and thoughts of cool, calm, autumn days...

 grey skies and seas

 sunlight on frost

Watched (from the library) Inch' Allah.  What a deeply, moving story...

Then tried to watch Saving Mr Banks (as recommended by a fellow library patron), but after 20 minutes had to turn if off.  I'm sure it's a good movie, but after viewing the previous one it seemed a bit frivolous and silly.

Reading through The Road... and doing a bit of a study/discussion with a friend...
And you can see some of my 'secret project' in the background (but don't tell!)

Will close with some quotes from the book.  There are more HERE.

“If someone is determined not to risk pain, then such a person must do without many things: [...] - all that makes life alive, meaningful and significant.”
“We are often most in the dark when we are the most certain, and the most enlightened when we are the most confused.”
“The best decision-makers are those who are willing to suffer the most over their decisions but still retain their ability to be decisive."
Mind food!

Weekend Words

The dark brown soil is turned
By the shape pointed plow;
And I've a lesson learned.
My life is but a field,
Stretched out beneath God's sky,
Some harvest rich to yield.
Where grows the golden grain?
Where faith? Where sympathy?
In a furrow cut by pain.

Baker Boy

Denver went to a cake making/decorating day at the High School, and this is the result...

He kindly left me a rather large piece (to eat in instalments)...

My Henning Mankell book arrived.  Looking forward to reading it but it will have to get in line, there are quite a few before it...

I've had to put my Debbie blanket aside to work on a birthday gift for a friend (shhh!...can't tell's a surprise!)

And a day wouldn't be complete without an early morning 'down by the river' shot...

Or two...

"Oh, Hi, Mark"

Unless you've seen the movie...

Or read the book...
 reading and recommending

You won't 'get' the title of this post.  I would suggest movie first...then book.

Still working on the Debbie blanket...

And reading/watching this lot from the library...

 And that's it for today!

Making it up as I go along

My friend Debbie sent me some yarn last year from India...

I've been debating how to use it, and I still don't have a plan (thus the post title), but am going to start with some squares like this...

2 rounds black
2 rounds random (1 row of each colour)
1 round white
1 round random
1 round grey
I may also do some solid colour squares edged in grey to intersperse.
That's the plan so far.
The blanket will henceforth be known as the Debbie blanket!

The crocheted blankets and knitted beanies will go to a couple of charities...

 Reading Depths...

I'm linking this post in with Ginny's Yarn Along (which is back), so if you want to see what others are crafting/reading, go HERE.

And for your green fix...the back garden...
aka the jungle...and you thought I was joking!!

That's all folks!
