Family fun

Had Jefferson and Amy here from Sydney last weekend.

We did the obligatory meal out at the Bush Inn on the Saturday night...

Jefferson, me, Marnie and Amy
(Denver was our photographer)

And a day bush walk to Lees Hut on Sunday.  It's a 5 hour walk, but because it was midday before we got to the start (after a 1 1/4 hour drive, half of which was on gravel roads) we walked 2 hours...stopped for lunch?...then decided we should turn back or we would not have made it back to the car before dark.  It was muddy, because we'd recently had rain, but it was a great day walking through beautiful scenery (despite the occasional leech and me having to contend with a migraine by the time we got home).

Next time we'll start earlier so we can do the whole walk.

Here are some photos Marnie and Jefferson took...

We had to cross this...

Stopping for a food break...

Lots of water to negotiate...

We took a bit of a detour to Oxley Falls...

Mountains...trees...river...  Beautiful!!

You can't see it from the photo but we were actually very high up and crossing the river (or so they tell me...I didn't look down...or anywhere...except where I was putting my feet...)

Granny bringing up the rear.  They were calling me Mrs Gandalf...

The boy and the beams...

Getting cosy...

Unreal...

Pretty good eh!  Tasmania...who'd want to live anywhere else...

Click on any of the photos to enlarge them.  The scenery ones look so much better enlarged (but not as good as actually being there...)
