Family, plus other news ...

A visit from Ben, Hayley and Hazel has been keeping me busy (as well as being laid low with migraines for a time).  Today is raining after a long dry spell, so a good opportunity to get a blog post done....

One of the first stops was a late breakfast at Anvers Chocolate Factory Cafe...

We also went to visit the goats at the nearby school farm...

The baby goats are so cute...
and the people are a close second :)

We visited the chickens too, but because I forgot to take a photo of them this will have to suffice...
little salt and pepper shakers from my friend Julie :)

Smile :))

Started a new knitting project that will likely take all year the rate I am going...

a blanket for a patient at the Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia
you can read about it HERE

The info about knitting a blanket is HERE...
I knit one for them 2 years ago, and thought it was time to make another one

I'm currently reading this Canadian West series by Janette Oke (bought second hand on eBay) ...
first read about 30 years ago, and halfway through book 2

A recent visit to the river....
my peaceful spot

And speaking of peace, I'm hoping to get a series of devotional post on soon on peace.

'Prayer + Praise = Peace'

Back soon!

  1. Migraines are just plain awful and I hope they’ve died down and that you have respite from them. Family time really is quite special 🙂. I’m sure your blanket will be a real comfort as those women have suffered enough.
    With love

  3. When I was a child, there was a small area outside of an ice cream and dairy store with some farm animals. The goats were eating our paper napkins, and also going for our neighbor's straw handbag! Did you have any such trouble? Otherwise, it's always nice to visit with animals. I'm so sorry you get so many migraines! We had a beautiful warm day on Tuesday (did you hear about it from family?) and I kept one bedroom window open - maybe three inches! Woke up with a headache. I live on Exedrin, but I know it isn't a good thing to take it all the time.

    1. The goats were very well behaved, plus, we took apples to feed them :)

Sorry to hear about your headaches/migraines. I take Imigran (Sumatriptan). Probably more than I should, but the doctor is monitoring my usage, and nothing else works. I think Exedrin might be what Natasha takes but is finding it often doesn't work so has to resort to Imigran.

Natasha told me they sat outside in the sun (first time since winter) the other day, so perhaps that was the same day you are referring to :) xx
