Tagua
Yesterday I was able to visit the Oxfam shop in Launceston. I don't get to Launceston very often and it is one of my favourite shops...along with the bookshops.
I bought this necklace. Don't you just love it!

The design is called Magic Forest. It's made from the Tagua nut. You can read more about it HERE.
On my last visit I bought this bracelet.... also made from the Tagua nut.
And also in purple :)
I'm not into bright, shiny, sparkly jewellery, but having said that...
I did buy this ring recently at a market. Because it's different.
It's actually made from a tiny stainless steel fork!!
Just as well I don't get to go shopping very often :))

Happy Birthday Ben!
Isn't he cute...
It's my baby's birthday today!
Now he's some-one else's baby.
But he's still cute!
Just ask Hayley :)
Happy Birthday Ben!! xx

Tuesday
Here's a bit of a rundown on the last few days...
Denver started back at school today after 8 weeks of summer holidays. I think he's glad to get back to see his friends (not for the school work) and I'm happy to have some free time during the day. He's a really good boy, but I'm just craving some solitude.
Last Wednesday (5th) was my birthday! Let's just say I'm a year older :)
Marnie, Denver and I went out for tea. Denver took this photo of Marnie and I...
I'm back to knitting blanket squares for charity. I can knit while watching TV/dvd's, but I can't crochet and not keep my eyes on my work....
So, knitting it was, as I wanted to watch this dvd (from the library) - Midnight in Paris - written and directed by Woody Allen. I enjoyed it!
And I couldn't get into the Per Petterson book I was reading (Out Stealing Horses) and I'd rather spend my reading time on a book I'm really enjoying than slogging my way through a book that I'm not finding so great.
So I'm now reading Plainsong by Kent Haruf and enjoying it so far....
That's about it for today....

holed up
Marnie and Denver are away for the weekend...BLISS!!! I've got some home alone time (do you maybe get the impression I'm a bit anti-social/anti-people?!?)
I've been reading cowboy books. A first for me. Just finished these two by Leif Enger. Highly recommended! Unfortunately he's only written two books. But I've got one by his brother Lin Enger on the way...
And this morning at the library I picked up some more episodes of Northern Exposure (love it!!) and this CD by Sarah Blasko. I'd never heard of her, but the more I listen...the more I like...
And I'm now reading this book by Per Petterson ...
And if I feel energetic (which is unlikely) I might make this recipe for Lemon Poppy Seed Cake from THIS library book...

Aren't libraries wonderful places!! Cheaper than bookshops...although I could spend all day in both.
Will try and get you some photos next week of our little town library.
Adios Amigos!!
