Sea Change

Got to spend a couple of days by the sea.  Not at my beloved Stanley, but at Devonport, which was almost as nice...

early morning...the best time of the day...

 watching the sail boats

And the freight ships...

The walk track along the rugged coastline to the Bluff Lighthouse...

The sandy main beach...

The sand/pebble/driftwood beach near the cabin park where I did my walking...
and soaked in the sounds and scents of the sea

And then on Sunday...my birthday...Marnie and Denver took me to the Hazelnut Farm cafe near Hagley for afternoon tea.

We sat on the deck, enjoying the view...
...of the hazelnut trees and mountains

and ducks (or geese?) under the trees

And enjoyed our hazelnut cheesecake...sorry...I ate it before I thought to take a photo :)...and latte...

Thus endeth another trip to the sea and another birthday!!!

xx

And a PS for Lisa...because quite often we seem to be on the same wavelength even though we are on opposite sides of the world...

She just posted about her plant in a white paper bag on her blog, and I had just done a similar thing with a little succulent I bought on the way home from my sea trip...but put mine in a brown paper bag...

it's a baby sunrose...supposed to go outside, but I've got it inside for now

  1. Sunrose! I'll have to look that up. Yours in very neat looking, Lynda. :) Your oceans scenes are lovely, and I love hazelnuts!
