...getting back to my hippy roots with Carole King, Linda Ronstadt and Neil Young...

  1. We really enjoy Neil Young's music, and have pretty much all of cds. Sugar Mountain and Cinnamon Girl are two of my favorites by him. NY has such a unique voice and so many different styles and all are good.

    1. Hi Bean - yes, he certainly has a unique voice and style. I'm about to start reading his autobiography Waging Heavy Peace.

Harvest and After the Gold Rush were the two that we had 'way back when...'

But I think his new one Prairie Wind is the best!

  2. Have you ever listened to the Ozark Mountain Daredevils? Great music, we happened across a "best of" cd and started listening and we love their music. Their big hits are Jackie Blue and If You Want to Get to Heaven you Have to Raise a Little Hell, but they are my least favorite of their music. The rest of their music is fantastic, they are famous for a song called Chicken Train - it is funny. They are kind of bluegrass/southern rock/folk all intermingled - but really just their own unique style.

    1. I think I may have hear of OMD but don't know their music. Will see if they have any of their cd's at the library. We have a great library system here, you can reserve a book/cd/dvd from any library within Tasmania and they send it to your local library to pick up.

  3. I haven't listened to Prairie Wind, I will see if they have it at the main library branch and will give it whirl, since it is Neil Young I am sure I will like it.

    1. I love it! Only 10 tracks, but quality rather than quantity. Still his unique style, but better than ever.
