Monday Thoughts

Where are you looking?

Where are your eyes fixed?

Inward...on yourself?
Outward...at the world?
Upward...to Jesus?

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.     Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Hebrews 12:2-3

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Refrain
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

Refrain

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Refrain

  1. I love this hymn! It reminds me of Isaiah 26:3 :)

  2. Isaiah 26:3 is a good verse.

    We use to sing the chorus/refrain of this hymn quite a lot at a church I use to attend, but it wasn't till I looked it up to post here that I found there were verses that went with it :o)
