Short and Sweet

I'm talking about this blog post...not me!

Although I am short and sweet too :))

Long time no post!  Haven't really been in a talkative mood...or had anything interesting to say.  Still don't...but you're getting it anyway...

Started reading the long awaited new book by Lin Enger, but couldn't get into it.  Don't think it was the book's fault, I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to read it now.

So have moved on to Anne Lamott's Travelling Mercies.  Just what I needed!!  Very, very good.  If you haven't read any of her books...this is a good one to start with...

(a friend pointed out that you Americans spell travelling wrong :))!!)

Been hard at work in the garden...mowing...pulling out weeds...tending my potted herbs...
I love to bring some inside and put in a jug.  I think I've got rosemary, catnip, curry plant, thyme (which you can't see), lemon balm, oregano, pineapple sage and apple mint in the photo.  Been inside for a week now and still looking fresh and green...and smelling delicious :))

And I've been listening to the fantastic new cd from Damien Rice.

Beautiful music!
Amazing words!
Not the sort of music you put on as background noise, but the kind you listen intently to...LOUD!

Intense and soul stirring!

Well...I didn't do too badly for some-one who doesn't have much to say :))

See ya next time!!

xx

  2. How coincidental! I was telling a friend about Anne Lamott and she expressed interest in reading her. I told her I thought I had a book or two on my shelves. I just returned about an hour ago from searching and found I had 2 copies of Traveling Mercies (or "Travelling"). She has a brand new one out that I haven't read yet. Maybe soon.
