I like the answer..."if I'd read them all, it wouldn't be a library!"

I don't feel so bad now that I have books sitting on the shelves of my 'library' that I haven't read yet.Lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05372513528828334944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2967502976418632583.post-86542810643792054902012-01-08T16:40:31.620+11:002012-01-08T16:40:31.620+11:00Hi Vera - I guess my decluttering is taking the fo...Hi Vera - I guess my decluttering is taking the form of narrowing my 'wants' and 'haves'. Knowing the difference between the things I really want and the things I just think I want (if that makes sense?). Learning my style of decor and narrowing that down, in that there are lots of things I like (including books), but I can't live with them all, so I have to make choices as to what things are important and needed in my life. But it seems I eliminate one thing...and then find something new to fill the gap!!!

Looks like you'll be busy reading this year too :o)Lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05372513528828334944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2967502976418632583.post-15262139509784259992012-01-08T03:41:32.901+11:002012-01-08T03:41:32.901+11:00Words of Elizabeth Goudge on the gift of a book:
...Words of Elizabeth Goudge on the gift of a book:

"You give me great wealth, for the gift of a book is the gift of a human soul. Men put their souls in their books. When one man gives another a book then three souls are bound together in that most happy thing, a trinity. What a blessed thing is a gift! It was the old name for the Holy Spirit. So one of my good intentions for this year is to spend more time with the books I really want to read and get rid of the others. Declutter like Penelope Wilcox :)
Here are the one's I start with (reading I mean)

- Heart - Gail Godwin (love this writer)
- The Everlasting Man - G.K. Chesterton (love him to)
- Das Haus der Schwestern - Charlotte Link (to brush up my German)
- Van je hoofd naar je hart (From your head to your heart)- Leo Fijen (A gift)
- Pelgrim zonder God (Pelgrim without God) - (Another gift. Hmm.. not shure if I want to read about a pelgrim without God. Well...maybe it's good.)

- O.. and rereading a few books from Charles Dickens. (Another favorite)

Wish you a lot of happy hours with yóúr books this year.VeraMvJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15392864506829224729noreply@blogger.com
